Mojokerto Regency Government Accelerates Halal Certification for MSMEs with Support from PT Ajinomoto Indonesia
The Mojokerto Regency Government is continuing to push for faster halal certification for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Support is coming from the private sector, including PT Ajinomoto Indonesia, which is providing hundreds of slots for Halal Self Declaration. Mojokerto Regent Muhammad Albarraa appreciated the company's contribution at an event held at the main factory area of PT Ajinomoto Indonesia on Thursday (April 30).
The Regent stated this step is important to prepare MSMEs for the mandatory halal certification requirement according to Law No. 33 of 2014 and Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024, which takes effect starting October 18, 2026. The Mojokerto Regency Government is trying to speed up certification by collaborating with halal institutions, such as Airlangga University.
The event was attended by the Head of the Mojokerto Regency Industry and Trade Office, Noerhono, as well as representatives from the Airlangga University Halal Center and PT Ajinomoto Indonesia. On the same day, the Regent also attended the launch of the "Giant Banana" brand in Simbaringin Village, Kutorejo District, with the hope of providing economic benefits to the community.
