Mercy is our Path to Paradise

I was just reading an article about mercy in Islam, and here's what really stuck with me: Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that mercy isn't just kindness to those close to you, but compassion toward all of Allah's creations: people, animals, nature. He said: 'By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, you will not enter Paradise until you show mercy to one another.' They gave examples: from forgiving the prostitute who gave water to a dog, to treating trees with care. Companions, like Abu Bakr, would buy slaves just to set them free.
