KPK to Follow Up on Trial Facts About Hajj Corruption Money Flow to Nusron Wahid
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is gonna review and analyze trial facts related to an alleged flow of 400 thousand US dollars that’s said to be connected to a request from Zainal Abidin, a friend of ATR Minister/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the team of public prosecutors will dig into every statement made during the trial over the suspected corruption case in managing additional Hajj quotas for 2023-2024.
Nusron Wahid’s name popped up when the defendant Ishfah Abidal Aziz, a former special staffer for the Religious Affairs Minister, confirmed to witness Saiful Bahri about handing that cash over through a guy named Erik. During the trial, it came out that the money was allegedly meant to fulfill a request from Zainal Abidin.
The KPK stressed that all these trial facts are key for the evidence-gathering process and to piece together the full picture of the case.
