KPK Reveals Alleged Luxury Car Bribe in Kuansing Secretary Selection
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered an alleged bribe related to filling the position of Regional Secretary of Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau. Kuansing Regent for the 2025–2030 period, Suhardiman Amby, allegedly requested a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp 2.05 billion as a condition from selection participants.
Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that the Regional Secretary selection was opened in April 2025 with two candidates: Fahdiansyah (Assistant I/Acting Regional Secretary) and Zulkarnain (Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning). Only Zulkarnain agreed to the request, so he was chosen as Regional Secretary for the 2025 period. The car was bought on credit with monthly installments of Rp 46.5 million for five years, using the identity of a private party, Ardiles, because Zulkarnain's financial profile didn't meet the requirements.
The KPK suspects that the car was a bribe so that Zulkarnain would secure the position. This case started from a public report, then a sting operation was carried out on June 29, 2026. The KPK named three suspects: Suhardiman Amby as the bribe recipient, and Zulkarnain and Ardiles as the givers.
