KPK Detains 3 Suspects in Anwar Sadad Bribery Case over East Java Grant Funds
The KPK has detained three suspects in a bribery case involving grant funds for community groups in the East Java Provincial Government for the 2019–2022 fiscal year. They’re accused of bribing DPR RI member Anwar Sadad back when he was Deputy Speaker of the East Java DPRD for 2019–2024.
The three suspects are Achmad Yahya (AY), M. Fathullah (MF) from Pasuruan, and Ra Wahid Ruslan (RWR) from Bangkalan. They’re being held for the first 20 days, from July 22 to August 10, 2026, at the KPK’s Red and White Building detention center branch.
Another suspect, Moch. Mahrus (MM), an East Java DPRD member for 2024-2029, didn’t show up for the KPK’s summons, so his detention has been rescheduled. This case stems from the sting operation on Sahat Tua Simanjuntak back in December 2022, with a total of 20 suspects still facing legal proceedings.
