KH M. Roqib Abdul Wahab, Caretaker of Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, Passes Away

Jombang – Sad news envelops the big family of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). KH Muhammad Roqib Abdul Wahab (Gus Roqib), son of National Hero KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah and caretaker of Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, passed away on Thursday (30/7). Head of PC GP Ansor Jombang, Taufiqi Fakkarudin (Gus Fiki), expressed condolences. “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. The whole extended family of PC GP Ansor Jombang Regency shares the deepest condolences,” he said. The deceased was known as a protective ulama who consistently carried on the struggles of earlier scholars, preserving the tradition of knowledge, spreading the message of Islam rahmatan lil ‘alamin, and national unity. Gus Roqib was a member of the Caretaker Council of the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School Foundation, dedicating his life to guiding students and developing pesantren education.
