It's kind of funny how many things Christians criticize Muslims for are actually in their own holy book
Salam everyone, I was thinking about something and wanted to share my thoughts. So you know how sometimes Christian folks question our way of fasting, praying, and especially how we put our heads on the ground during salah? Well, guess what. In the Bible, Jesus himself wakes up at night to pray (Mark 1:35), he puts his face on the floor when he prays (Matthew 26:39), tells people not to eat pork (Leviticus 11:7), fasts for more than a whole month (Matthew 4:2) and even says "peace be with you" which is basically our As-salamu alaykum (Luke 24:36). Plus, Genesis 17:3 says Abram "fell on his face" before God, and in Numbers 20:6 Moses and Aaron did the same thing. And have you heard them complain about us facing the Kaaba during prayer, or circling it during Hajj? The Bible shows prophets facing a physical place to pray too (Daniel 6:10), God telling people to walk in circles around an area (Joshua 6:3-4), and prophets doing things seven times for purification (Leviticus 8:11). There's even a part where the prophet Isaiah kisses a rock to get his sins forgiven (Isaiah 6:6-7). Oh, and some say that Allah saving Prophet Isa by making it look like he was put on the cross is a "trick." But in 2 Kings 7:6, God literally made the enemy army hear fake sounds of chariots and horses so they'd get scared and run away, saving the believers. Sounds pretty similar if you ask me. What about hijab? Some criticize our sisters for covering, but 1 Corinthians 11:5-6 says a woman dishonors her head if she prays without a covering, and that she might as well shave her hair off. If she won't cover, she should cut her hair, but since that's seen as disgraceful, she better wear that covering. And the four wives thing. Abraham (Genesis 16:3 & 25:1), Jacob (Genesis 29:28, 30:4, 30:9), David (1 Samuel 25:43 & 2 Samuel 5:13), and Solomon (1 Kings 11:3) all had more than one wife and there's no clear statement against it there. Just goes to show we have a lot more in common than people think, Alhamdulillah. May Allah guide us all to the truth.
