Israeli settlers enter Al-Aqsa Mosque compound to pray

More than 150 Israeli settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem under Israeli police protection and performed prayers there. Under a long-standing status quo arrangement, only Muslims are permitted to pray within the compound. The site is administered by the Jordanian waqf authority. Recent months have seen a rise in such incidents where settlers enter the site with police escort.
