Israel Admits Unprecedented Bombing by Iran
Israel faced unprecedented bombing during the war with Iran from February to April 2026. Moshe Patel, director of the Israeli Defense Ministry's Missile Defense Organization, shared this analysis after the latest test of the Iron Dome system.
The test was conducted together with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to boost capabilities against advanced threats, based on lessons from the Iranian attack. Patel said, "We're dealing with a reality of continuous bombing that demands extraordinary operational flexibility."
The Iron Dome remains a key pillar of Israel's air defense even though media reported its failure to intercept missiles and drones. A military investigation in February 2025 revealed serious flaws in the system during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, with nearly half of the 3,700 rockets not being intercepted in the first 4 hours.
