Indonesia Ready to Face South Korea in the 2026 Uber Cup Semifinals
The Indonesian women's badminton team made it through to the semifinals of the 2026 Uber Cup after beating host Denmark 3-1 in the quarterfinals early Friday morning Indonesian time. The win came thanks to contributions from Putri Kusuma Wardani, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, and Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo.
In the semis, the Indonesian team will face South Korea, which also advanced with a 3-1 win over Chinese Taipei. The match, scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at the Forum Horsens in Denmark, is expected to be tight considering South Korea's got elite players like world number one An Se Young.
In the other semifinal, defending champion China will take on Japan. Indonesia's chances of making it to the final pretty much hinge on consistency, especially from the singles players, when up against the aggressive style of the South Koreans.
