How Du’a Really Makes a Difference, InshaAllah
Assalamu’alaikum, I know it’s easy to feel down when it seems like our du’a aren’t being answered. I used to think the same. Lately I’ve been practicing making du’a for small, everyday things - like asking Ya Allah to help us choose the best restaurant, pick the meal we’ll enjoy most, or to guide me to the right grocery item when I’m shopping. Little, simple requests. For those of us who work in offices with computers, IT problems can be endless. Alhamdulillah, when I first asked Allah to grant me a laptop that would work well and be set up without hassles, He answered. Someone from IT helped me set it up smoothly. I also asked Allah to bring the person who would be best for me to assist - and He did. Others who got laptops around the same time had one problem after another and took days or weeks to get sorted. That happened again recently when the company replaced everyone’s old machines. I made the same du’a, and once more my setup went smoothly while some colleagues still struggled with different issues. If I hadn’t had others to compare with, I might not have noticed that Allah protected me. My du’a made a difference by His mercy and will. Don’t stop making du’a. Even if you don’t always see the outcome, that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Sometimes Allah shows us the result, and sometimes He’s testing our trust in Him when we can’t see it. My small advice: start making du’a for the little things in your life. Even when buying something simple like a toothbrush, say “Ya Allah, help me choose the one that’s best for my teeth and mouth.” It may seem trivial, but there’s meaning in paying attention to these small moments, InshaAllah. May Allah forgive our sins and have mercy on us all.
