How do Muslim traders decide what’s Halal and what’s not?
Assalamu alaykum! I've been digging into this topic lately, and honestly, the more I read, the more mixed opinions I come across. Some folks say all trading is haram because it's basically speculation, like gambling. Others argue it can be halal if you steer clear of stuff like: - Riba (interest) - Too much uncertainty (gharar) - Using leverage that involves interest - Trading things that aren't permissible Then there are all these debates about forex, stocks, crypto, futures, CFDs... and it seems like everyone has a different red line. I'm not here to debate or judge anyone's beliefs. I'm just genuinely curious because I want to understand how different Muslim traders see this. If you're a Muslim and you trade: - What made you feel that your way is halal (or haram)? - Was there a particular scholar, fatwa, or rule that guided you? - Did your views shift over time? I'd love to hear different thoughts. JazakAllah khair, and please keep it friendly.
