Historical Witness Refutes Rumors about Mbah Dirjo's Grave: Not a Doll, He Was a Diponegoro Troop
KabarBaik.co, Sidoarjo – Allegations that the grave of Mbah Dirjo Joyo Ulomo in Ngelom, Sepanjang, contained a clay doll and a Quran have been firmly denied by historical witnesses. Mbah Dirjo is believed to have been part of Prince Diponegoro's troops who later became a religious student and devoted himself to the area.
Historian and native resident of Sepanjang, Khoirul Ambiya, who was directly involved in the grave's exhumation in 2025, stated, "I was a direct witness. We dug to a depth of over 1.5 meters. No doll was found at all. There was only a gravestone decorated with marbles, and video evidence still exists." He considered the accusations to be misleading opinion-shaping.
Heirs Saifudin and Moh Dahlan emphasized the importance of respecting the heirs' rights and the historical value of the land. Saifudin has reported the incident to the police, bringing an heir certificate from 1982. With this clarification, it is hoped the public won't be easily provoked by baseless issues. The grave is part of a historical trace that deserves to be preserved.
