Finding My Way Back To Islam After A Long Time Away
As-salamu alaykum everyone. I haven't prayed properly since I was six years old, when my father passed away, may Allah have mercy on him. My mother had to go abroad to work when I was young, so I never really learned how to perform Salah correctly. Alhamdulillah, this year, my uncle helped me start praying again and guided me back to my deen, insha'Allah. In my search for truth, I've seen a lot of hateful comments about our faith. Recently, I've been trying to understand how all three Abrahamic religions-Judaism, Christianity, and Islam-connect. I realized that the first two were like earlier chapters guiding us toward the final truth. I learned that the 'Holy Spirit' Christians talk about is actually Angel Jibril (Gabriel), peace be upon him. It was Jibril who delivered Allah's words to Prophets Musa (Moses) and 'Isa (Jesus), peace be upon them both. In Islam, we believe Prophet 'Isa was a great messenger of Allah. He taught people to worship God alone, not him. The idea of the Trinity wasn't taught by 'Isa; it came much later from his followers. To me, this shows Islam completes the message. Earlier revelations got changed over time, but the Quran is Allah's preserved and final guidance. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the last prophet. This understanding has been a real blessing for me. Alhamdulillah, Allah gives us what we need. May Allah forgive our sins and guide us all.
