Finding Hope in the Story of Yusuf (AS)
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Just wanted to share a short reminder for anyone going through a tough time. Wallahi, whenever I read Surah Yusuf with reflection I always feel a deep comfort. I attended a talk by a respected scholar about the lessons from Yusuf (AS), and it really strengthened my imaan and pushed me to increase my worship. The life of Yusuf (AS) had trials we can hardly imagine: - thrown into a well by his brothers - sold into slavery - tempted by the minister’s wife - imprisoned unfairly - forgotten by people - and eventually reunited with his family at the perfect moment Each phase held wisdom. Each step shows that Allah sees what we do not. If you feel stuck or like things are delayed - whether it’s being passed over for a job, struggling at home, dealing with family pressure, waiting for a spouse, feeling lonely, or facing a painful trial - remember this: Yusuf (AS) asked the prisoner to mention him to the king, but the man forgot and Yusuf remained in prison for years longer. Why? Because Allah was arranging something better. If Yusuf (AS) had been freed sooner, he wouldn’t have been there to interpret the king’s dream, a moment that changed everything and led to his reunion with his family. What looked like a delay was actually a door. Allah is Al-ʿAleem (All-Knowing) and Al-Hakeem (All-Wise). Sometimes what you want now is being postponed because Allah is preparing something far greater than you imagined. As a revert, this lesson has helped me through many hard moments. So if you’re reading this and struggling: Trust Allah. Make dua. Be patient. Know your story is still unfolding in ways you can’t see. May Allah ease your affairs and replace your hardships with something better. Ameen.
