US President Donald Trump stated that most points had been agreed upon, but the nuclear issue remained a deadlock. Following this failure, Trump immediately ordered a military blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial sea lane for global energy trade.
The blockade began to be enforced immediately, with the US Navy blocking all ships entering or leaving the strait. Trump also issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that attacks on US forces or civilian ships would be met with full force. Iran, through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), responded by stating that approaching foreign military vessels would be considered a violation of the ceasefire.
