DPR Urges Health Ministry to Investigate and Sanction Health Workers Who Bullied BPJS Patient
Deputy Chairman of House Commission IX Yahya Zaini responded to the death of Yurizal, a BPJS Kesehatan patient whose case had gone viral. He urged the Ministry of Health to investigate this case and expressed deep concern. 'I offer my condolences. Health workers must provide the best service to every patient, including BPJS participants,' he said.
Yahya highlighted how long the patient waited for treatment, which shows the poor hospital service. He asked the Health Ministry to take firm action against unscrupulous health workers who lack empathy and violate professional ethics. 'The Health Ministry must issue a strong warning and conduct an open investigation into hospitals that fail to provide good service,' he stressed.
Head of the Health Ministry's Communications Bureau, Aji Muhawarman, regretted the unempathetic comments from health workers on social media. He urged all parties to prioritize empathy and wise communication as part of professionalism.
