Curious about Previous Revelations
Assalamu alaikum everyone. I'm a revert who was previously not religious, and Alhamdulillah, I'm completely certain about Islam. But I get this nagging curiosity about other faiths sometimes, and honestly, I wish I didn't. We know that Christianity and Judaism were originally messages from Allah, but people altered them over time, which is why Allah sent our Prophet to guide us back. I understand all that intellectually. But I still find myself wondering. I've had moments of doubt before, but my mind could never accept concepts like the Trinity-it just didn't make sense. Sometimes I see former Muslims misrepresenting Islam, like claiming it oppresses or objectifies women. Often, it's clear they're confusing cultural practices or extreme interpretations with the actual religion. So I wanted to ask those who were previously practicing Christians or Jews and were deeply knowledgeable in their faith: what made you change your mind? What specific beliefs felt illogical or contradictory? What are the core differences you found between the religions, and what was the actual reasoning-not just emotional feeling-that led you to choose Islam? I'd really appreciate a thoughtful discussion to help settle my thoughts.
