Cop in Deli Serdang Kills Neighbor, Motive: Rp50 Million Loan Denied
Investigators from the Deli Serdang Police Criminal Investigation Unit uncovered the murder of Hj Nurlis (69) in Punden Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa. The perpetrator is the victim's neighbor, a cop with the initials RF (23) from the Samapta Unit of the Deli Serdang Police.
Deli Serdang Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Hendria Lesmana, explained that on Friday (July 31, 2026) early morning, RF went to the victim's house to borrow Rp50 million. When rejected, the perpetrator assaulted and stabbed the victim in the neck until she died, then took gold earrings worth Rp3 million.
The perpetrator damaged the CCTV and fled, but was caught within 2x24 hours in Tebing Tinggi. RF admitted his actions and is now detained under Article 459 of the Criminal Code on Accomplice and Premeditated Murder, facing the death penalty or life imprisonment.
