Can I ask reverts/learners something honestly? I’ve been thinking about this a lot
Assalamu alaikum everyone, I’ve been reading posts for a long time and I keep seeing the same struggles: confusion, feeling overwhelmed, not knowing where to begin, and the loneliness of learning Islam on your own. I wanted to ask something openly. For those of you who are reverts or trying to learn the Deen more seriously: What has been the hardest part for you? Is it: - not knowing what to learn first? - jumping between random videos/books and getting overwhelmed? - feeling like everything is scattered? - losing motivation halfway? - or something else entirely? I’m asking because when I was trying to learn properly, I felt drained just looking for reliable content. I didn’t lack the will to learn - I lacked direction. I’m wondering if that’s a common issue, or if it was just me. Another honest question (please answer truthfully, no pressure): If there was a clear, step-by-step learning path for Islam, laid out calmly from basics to deeper subjects, would you use it? Or do most people prefer figuring things out on their own? I really want to know whether this struggle is real for others or if I’m overthinking it. If you’re comfortable sharing: - What do you wish had been available when you were learning Islam? - What would actually make learning feel easier or less heavy? - What usually stops you from continuing? Please be honest, even if the answer is “this wouldn’t help me at all.” Your responses would mean a lot. JazakAllahu khair for reading 🤍
