Banyuwangi Hajj Pilgrims Begin Departure, Regent Ipuk Entrusts Prayers

Prospective Hajj Pilgrims (JCH) from Banyuwangi in flight groups 82 and 83 began their journey to the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory on Tuesday (12/5). This first-phase departure was directly overseen by Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani along with local government and security officials in front of the Banyuwangi Regency office. Regent Ipuk prayed for the smoothness of their worship and for their return as pious Hajj pilgrims, and requested that the pilgrims also pray for goodness for Banyuwangi. Acting Head of the Banyuwangi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office, Rif'an Junaidi, stated that the pilgrims will rest for approximately 20 hours at the Sukolilo embarkation point in Surabaya before departing for the Holy Land. The Hajj rituals will last for 40 days. This year, a total of 1,312 JCH from Banyuwangi are divided into five flight groups, with departures being carried out in stages. Of the total pilgrims, 503 individuals are elderly aged over 65 and 144 are categorized as high-risk. Priority pilgrims, including the elderly and those with disabilities, will receive special facilitation, such as participating in the Murur program.
