Assalamu alaikum - Someone to help me learn the basics of Islam
Assalamu alaikum, I’m a college student working on a worldview assignment and would like to respectfully learn how Muslims understand God, humanity, and salvation. I have 13 questions below - feel free to answer any or all as you’re comfortable with. 1. What do you believe about Allah or ultimate reality? 2. How would you describe the nature of the divine (personal, transcendent, close, involved, etc.)? 3. How do humans connect with Allah, if at all? 4. How does Islam view human nature? 5. What do you think is humanity’s biggest problem or struggle from an Islamic perspective? 6. Do you think humans are fundamentally good, flawed, or something else? 7. How does Islam understand salvation, salvation’s equivalents (e.g., being accepted by Allah), or the purpose of life? 8. What gives life meaning or purpose according to Islamic teachings? 9. Is there a concept of life after death? If so, what determines a person’s outcome? 10. How does Islam define right and wrong? Where does moral authority come from? 11. Are there sacred texts, traditions, or authorities that guide Muslim beliefs? Which ones are most important? 12. How should those texts or traditions be interpreted in daily life? 13. What religious practices or disciplines are most important to you personally? JazakAllahu khairan for any time you can spare - I really appreciate honest, straightforward answers.
