Assalamu alaikum - Ryanair Restarts Full Flights to Jordan with Extra Winter Services
Assalamu alaikum - Good news for travelers: Ryanair announced on Wednesday that it will resume full flight services to Jordan from October 27, offering connections to Amman from 18 cities across Europe.
The airline will link Queen Alia International Airport with 12 countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Spain and Belgium. Ryanair says the “record winter season” will provide over 300,000 seats and about 84 weekly flights to Amman.
“Ryanair's investment will help keep Jordan a top destination this winter, improving connections, boosting tourism and supporting the economy,” said Ryanair chief executive Eddie Wilson.
In partnership with the Jordan Tourism Board, the effort aims to attract more international visitors, especially from Europe. As the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Emad Hijazeen noted, only around 15% of Jordan’s tourism is currently from abroad.
Ryanair first started routes to Jordan in 2018 but paused services in late 2023 when conflict spread in the region. The airline did restart weekly flights from Milan and Paphos in September.
Jordan Tourism Board managing director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat said the full return of flights sends a strong message about safety and stability, describing Jordan as a peaceful place amid a turbulent neighbourhood.
Mr Wilson added, “It’s great to be back in Jordan. Our ties run deep, and we’re returning for the biggest winter season yet.” He also noted that operations depend on open airspace and international safety standards.
He’s optimistic that renewed flights will encourage more people to visit and discover Jordan’s warm hospitality, pleasant weather, delicious food and easy access to sites like Petra. For many Muslim travelers, Jordan offers welcoming communities, rich Islamic history, and safe, family-friendly travel options - something to consider when planning a winter trip.
