As the NU Congress Draws Near, 2,000 Local Organizers from Bahrul Ulum Jombang Are Ready to Serve Thousands of Participants
The local organizing committee for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress held a readiness rally at Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Tambakberas, Jombang, on Wednesday (7/22). Around 2,000 committee members from various groups showed up to make sure everything's set ahead of the event in late August 2026.
The foundation's chairman, KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh (Gus Rozaq), said this rally was part of the coordination and briefing. Infra prep is about 70% done, including building a three-hectare parking area, a bazaar, and a 2,000-square-meter communal kitchen, all with support from the East Java provincial government.
Official participants will get catered meals three times a day, while the supporting crowds will have warm drinks and breakfast provided. They're expecting about 200,000 guests, with security involving the boarding school, Banser, GASMI, Pagar Nusa, the police, and the military.
Participant registration is handled by PBNU. Provisional data shows 3,300 official participants from PCNU and PWNU, plus delegates from PCINU chapters in Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria.
