As a new revert to Islam, how can I get closer to Allah?
Assalamu alaykum. I'm a new convert to Islam and I'm trying to figure out practical ways to strengthen my connection with Allah. I want to be sincere and consistent, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start. A few things I'm thinking about but would love advice on: - Prayer: I know the basics, but how do I make my salah more meaningful and focused rather than just going through the motions? - Quran: I want to build a habit of reading and understanding the Quran. Any simple routines or tips for someone who isn't fluent yet? - Dhikr and dua: How often should I do dhikr, and are there short duas or phrases you recommend memorizing and saying throughout the day? - Community and learning: How do I find a supportive Muslim community or classes that are welcoming to reverts? What should I look for in a mosque or teacher? - Dealing with doubts and struggles: Sometimes I worry about making mistakes or not being 'good enough.' How do others cope and keep moving forward? Jazakum Allahu khayr for any practical tips, small steps, or personal experiences you can share. I'm trying to take things one day at a time and would appreciate encouragement and realistic advice.
