Anticipating 100 Thousand Congregants, Participants of National Remembrance and Prayer Asked to Come Early
The Ministry of Religious Affairs urges participants of the National Remembrance and Prayer at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, Saturday (1/8/2026), to come early to avoid crowding. The event, expected to be attended by 100,000 congregants, kicks off the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.
Director of Islamic Religious Information at the Ministry Muchlis M. Hanafi said the committee has prepared various operational aspects through coordination with the State Secretariat, Police, Military, and the Jakarta Provincial Government. The call to arrive early aims to spread out participant arrivals and ensure smooth checks.
Besides coming on time, participants are asked to show up at the designated meeting points, bring worship gear, follow security procedures, and keep the place clean. Muchlis stressed that the success of the event depends on participant discipline and active public participation.
The National Remembrance and Prayer is expected to be a moment of togetherness and gratitude to Allah SWT, while strengthening national unity. Muchlis added that communal prayer serves as a moral foundation balancing outward and inward efforts to build Indonesia.
