Alhamdulillah - How Istighfar and Salawat Brought Blessings Into My Life
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, I wanted to share a little story about truly accepting Allah’s plan for me. Recently, I started increasing my salawat on the Prophet ﷺ and doing lots of istighfar every day. Honestly, I began just about a month ago, sending at least 100 salawat daily, and some days saying over 200 istighfar. One day stood out - I had a volunteering event, a meeting, and a project rehearsal all set around 3PM. But subhanAllah, by Allah’s mercy, the volunteering was postponed suddenly, the rehearsal moved earlier to 1PM, and by 3PM I only had the meeting left. Everything just worked out perfectly. Another time, I wasn’t feeling well mentally and thought about canceling a meeting, but didn’t want to cause trouble since they’re busy. SubhanAllah, they called beforehand saying something urgent came up and they had to postpone. I smiled and thought, “There’s definitely something good here. Allah knows I wasn’t in the best state, so He gave me relief.” Since then, I try to say Alhamdulillah for everything, even if I don’t see the good right away. I remind myself of the ayah: “Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear” [2:286]. To me, that’s what tawakkul is all about - trusting that whatever happens, even delays or changes, is from Allah and holds goodness. I wanted to share this for anyone who might be going through a tough time or just needs a reminder that Allah is indeed the best of planners. If this resonates with you, I’d appreciate a du’a that Allah blesses an upcoming meeting I’m hoping for, and fills it with khayr. May Allah grant you peace, ease, and barakah in all your affairs.
