A Reminder for Tomorrow’s Me: Don’t Forget to Be the Sun (Assalamu Alaikum)
Assalamu Alaikum - Have you ever wondered, after the sun sets, whether it will rise again? We usually don’t truly fear that because deep down we trust Allah’s order. The sun will rise, and a new day will begin. Still, haven’t you sometimes fallen into despair, thinking your problems will never end? We all have. So why does that happen? Why are you so sure about the sun but so unsure about yourself? You know morning follows night, yet you doubt that your pain will ease. This isn’t who you really are. The light inside you can be brighter than the one above us. Don’t sit feeling hopeless as if it’s gone. Remember, everything you believed would never finish eventually did - hardships pass, struggles end. They don’t have to define you. Now isn’t the time to grieve or overthink. Take a lesson from the sun that brightens each day and sustains life by Allah’s will. If we try, our inner light can do even more. If the sun stopped shining, life would change completely. If the light inside you fades, what remains? Your dreams, hopes, and future would dim. But being alone is not the end - even the sun stands alone; some admire it, some don’t. It’s time to act. Stop being like the moon that borrows light; be like the sun that shines by its own force, with tawakkul and effort. Whatever future you want, pursue it with courage. Hesitation and weak thoughts don’t leave marks on the world. Darkness is broken by those whose inner light still burns. As long as you breathe and your heart beats, don’t stop being your own source of light. Shine and bring warmth to others’ lives - not for show, but as a sincere blessing. And one last thing: rebellion alone won’t make you shine, but courage, patience, and trust in Allah will. Keep going, and don’t forget to be the sun - inshAllah.
