A New Reader’s Curiosity About the Quran’s Challenge

Assalamu alaikum! So I’m just starting to read the Quran (the English translation by Mustafa Khattab), and in the intro, it talks about how the Quran throws down a challenge for people to produce something even close to its quality. But here’s the thing: I don’t know a lick of Arabic. So I’m sitting here wondering – why is this challenge so tough anyway? Just a bit about me: I grew up Christian but now I’m more agnostic. I wanted to check it out for myself, you know, get my own understanding instead of just listening to all the scare stories that float around here. Figured it’s the best way to learn, insha’Allah.
