a heartfelt lesson on letting go and trusting in allah
Writing this with a heavy heart, but I need to share from the soul. I was in a relationship outside marriage for about two years, and as expected, it eventually ended. We parted ways around a month ago, and alhamdulillah, it wasn’t chaotic; we separated peacefully. Over this last month, I didn’t feel too down because I’ve always been someone who accepts qadr with patience, and deep down, I knew she wasn’t the right spouse for me by Islamic standards. But a few weeks back, I glanced at her social media and had this uneasy sense that her connections had grown, though I tried not to assume anything. Today, I looked again and saw both her followers and following had clearly increased. And subhanallah, that small thing stirred up a hidden sadness in me. Let this be a reminder for us all, my brothers: never let your love for anyone overshadow your love for Allah. Don’t trade His commandments for your fleeting whims. No one cares for you like Allah does, and truly, people move on fast. Stay protected in your deen and put your full trust in Allah, my brothers.
