A halal producers' union was formed in Moscow.
Peace be upon you! The founding congress of a new association - the “National Union of Producers of Halal Goods and Services” - took place at the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow.
At the opening, the president of the organization, Ilyas Mamleev, talked about the goals of the union. According to him, the aim of this group is to bring together producers whose products comply with Islamic norms and to develop the halal industry in Russia.
Mamleev specifically emphasized the importance of combating uncontrolled certification. He mentioned that one of the top priorities is to fight against counterfeit products and those centers that irresponsibly issue halal certificates. He also said that there are already 12 producers in the association, and the number of those wanting to join keeps growing.
Plans include creating a unified information system and a database of market participants, organizing professional training for staff, and holding specialized events, including international forums.
“The work of the union is aimed at activating participants in the domestic halal market and increasing the export of Russian products that comply with Islamic norms to the markets of Arab-Muslim countries,” Mamleev highlighted, pointing out the export potential.
The establishment of this organization is happening against the backdrop of a growing halal market in Russia: it was previously reported that the annual volume of this niche has reached a significant amount, indicating its commercial appeal.
