A friend in need: Is this jinn possession?

Assalamu alaikum. I have a friend, not Muslim, but he believes in Allah. He’s been going through something strange: sometimes he hears voices, screams even, and feels a heavy pressure on his body like someone’s there. He panics a lot, and says it’s like a presence follows him. I’m not a scholar, and I’m still new to Islam, so I don’t know much about jinn. Could this be a jinn, brothers and sisters? Any advice would mean so much. JazakAllah khair.
