A Day Before Arrest, Doctor Tifa Posts Prayer Request for UI Dissertation Exam
The arrest of Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa over alleged fake diplomas of President Joko Widodo on June 19 grabbed public attention. A day earlier, dr. Tifa posted a prayer request on her personal X account ahead of her doctoral dissertation exam at the UI Faculty of Medicine.
In the post, she told about a three-month sabbatical leave process to dive deep into research on diabetes and the As Syifa verses in the Quran. This dissertation is hoped to address the burden of illness that millions of Indonesians suffer.
But on the morning of the exam, around 06:30 WIB, dr. Tifa was picked up by Polda Metro Jaya officers before she could go through the doctoral results seminar hearing scheduled for 09:00 WIB. To this day, the legal process around the case keeps rolling on.
