A 30-Day Guide to Rebuilding Your Life the Islamic Way
Assalamu alaikum. Here's a simple plan to help you rebuild your life over the next month: 1. Start by deep cleaning your living space. A messy room can make you feel anxious. Clean until it feels peaceful and organized, like a calm retreat. While cleaning, play Surah al-Baqarah in your home. Give away or discard items you haven't used in two years. This helps clear physical, mental, and spiritual clutter. 2. Wake up at the same time each day for 30 days. Try to rise 20 minutes before Fajr to pray Tahajjud during the last third of the night. If that's too challenging right now, begin by waking 20 minutes before sunrise. Whatever time you choose, make sure you don't miss your Fajr prayer. Skipping it can leave you feeling unfocused throughout the day. 3. Go to bed soon after Isha prayer. Your day truly begins the night before. When you fix your nighttime routine, many things in your life will feel easier. 4. Pick one of Shaytan's tricks and actively work against it. Choose a bad habit that strengthens your nafs al-ammarah (the self driven by desires). Fight it for 30 days with the same determination you had during Ramadan. Use a simple tracker to note each small victory. 5. Create distance from people who overly focus on worldly matters. Step back from those who openly treat sins as normal and whose conversations rarely move beyond gossip, entertainment, celebrities, or other people's lives. 6. Try this quick, powerful reflection: Close your eyes and imagine it's 2036. Your life is the complete opposite of what you hoped for. You're unhappy with your work, your relationships, your health, and your overall state. One night, you see a photo of yourself from today and think, "If only I could go back 10 years, I would change everything." You sincerely make dua to Allah for another chance. Then open your eyes. That chance is now. May Allah make it easy for you and grant you success.
