55 Percent of Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Have Returned Home, Discipline Is Key
The return of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims continues to run safely and orderly. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) of the Republic of Indonesia ensures that the entire process of pilgrims returning from the Holy Land to their homeland is maximally guarded. The smoothness of this year's return operations is not only supported by service readiness and coordination among parties, but also thanks to the compliance and discipline of the pilgrims in following all travel regulations.
Kemenhaj spokesperson Maria Assegaff said that as of the 59th day of Hajj operations and the 17th day of the return phase, a total of 114,236 pilgrims and officers, or about 55 percent of the total Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, have arrived in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 192 flight groups or 74,441 pilgrims and officers have also moved from Mecca to Medina as part of the second wave return process.
Maria expressed appreciation to all Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH), the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and all parties who played a role. Special appreciation was also given to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who are considered capable of maintaining order and complying with various provisions during the return journey, including not putting zamzam water into baggage or cabin bags. Zamzam water will be officially distributed upon arrival at the debarkation point in Indonesia.
Kemenhaj also invites all pilgrims to maintain the values of worship gained while in the Holy Land. Maria reminded that the meaning of Hajj does not stop after leaving the Holy Land, but must be reflected in daily life. "Hopefully all pilgrims return to the homeland in good health, safety, and achieve a blessed Hajj," she concluded.
