117,452 Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia, Operations Running Smoothly
The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenhaj) confirmed that Hajj operations are running smoothly on the 19th day, Saturday (9/5). As of Friday (8/5), a total of 303 flight groups (kloter) carrying 117,452 pilgrims and 1,209 officials have been dispatched from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia, according to Kemenhaj spokesperson Ichsan Marsha.
From that total, 165 kloter with 63,822 pilgrims and 660 officials are already in Makkah, while 28 kloter carrying 10,731 pilgrims and 113 officials arrived in Jeddah in the second wave. All processes for moving pilgrims from Madinah to Mecca are reported to be going well.
Kemenhaj has urged pilgrims to maintain their health ahead of the peak Hajj phase, by regulating their worship activities according to their ability, consuming water, and using personal protection like umbrellas and hats. Health officers are ready to be contacted if needed.
