11.2 Million Umrah Pilgrims Flood the Holy Land in the Last Three Months
The wave of Muslim arrivals to the Holy Land hit mind-blowing numbers. A total of 11.2 million pilgrims were recorded performing umrah throughout Q4 2025, showing just how pumped the global Muslim community is to worship in Makkah.
Data from Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) pegs total umrah pilgrims at 11,291,326, made up of 5,701,525 from outside Saudi Arabia and 5,589,801 domestic pilgrims. Men dominated at 56.8 percent, while women were 43.2 percent. For international pilgrims, women actually outnumbered men (53 percent).
December was the busiest month with 2,142,252 international pilgrims, while November saw the most domestic pilgrims at 2,059,838. Most international folks flew in (4.9 million). The 55–64 age group led among international pilgrims, while the 25–34 bracket was the biggest chunk of domestic ones.
Besides Makkah, Madinah also drew 5,722,584 visitors, including 3,846,284 from outside Saudi Arabia. These numbers really cement the Holy Land as the spiritual heart for Muslims worldwide.
