Ndi fota wuro mawdo mum reedu Jannah - Assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum. So, if someone just passes away suddenly without getting the chance to say sorry and all that, is there stuff we can do for them to snag some mercy? I’ve come across a few things and duas that folks often do - just wanted to toss it out there and see what others think: - Keep giving charity (sadaqah jariyah) in their name, like building a well, helping with Qur’an printing, or funding ongoing charity projects. - Make dua for them often, asking Allah to forgive their sins and give them a top spot in Jannah. A simple, heartfelt dua can pack a punch. - Recite Qur’an and get the reward dedicated to the deceased - a lot of people do Surah Yasin or other surahs and intend the thawab for that person. - If it's doable, perform Hajj or Umrah for them, or cover the cost for someone else to do it for them. - Seek forgiveness (istighfar) and get the family on board with it too, praying that Allah accepts it for the departed. - Do good deeds in their name: feed the poor, take care of an orphan, or do nice acts and dedicate the reward. I ain't a scholar, so I hope I'm not messing anything up. May Allah have mercy on our loved ones and get 'em into Jannah. If anyone’s got reliable references or other helpful tips, please share - jazakallahu khair.
