Wondering about saying 'Peace be upon him' when mentioning Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (from someone learning)
Hey everyone, I wanted to ask something that's been on my mind. I come from a different background religiously, but I genuinely respect Islam and everything it has contributed to the world-it's really admirable. When talking about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is it okay for me to say 'Peace be upon him'? I say it out of respect because I don't want to disrespect something that means so much to so many people. Even though my beliefs are different, I believe in respecting all faiths since we can't really know everything for sure. So my question is: should I always say it when mentioning him? I just want to make sure I'm being respectful in conversations. Thanks for your help!
