Why do some scholars consider certain books on sending blessings problematic?
Assalamu alaikum, I've seen some folks online saying that books like Dalā'il al-Khayrāt and Bashā'ir al-Khayrāt are shirk or bid'ah, and I'm trying to understand why. From what I've gathered, Dalā'il al-Khayrāt by Al-Jazuli (may Allah have mercy on him) is basically a compilation of salawat on the Prophet ﷺ, and Bashā'ir al-Khayrāt is by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah have mercy on him). How can sending blessings on the Prophet be wrong? Is it because these specific formulations aren't found exactly in the Sunnah? And what about other well-known salawat like the Badriyyah or the Burdah? I'm curious whether the issue is with the book itself, some of its contents, or maybe how people misuse it? If anyone has insight from scholars, I'd love to hear the different views. Jazakumullah khair.
