US carrier enters Mediterranean as tensions with Iran escalate
The USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier, has entered the Mediterranean amid a major US military buildup in the Middle East. President Trump says he's considering a limited strike on Iran if talks fail to replace the nuclear deal he canceled. US forces in the area also include boosted land-based air defenses and tens of thousands of troops stationed on bases.
