Navigating Ramadan while working offshore
Salaam, folks. So here's my situation: I work on an offshore oil rig out in the North Sea, and my schedule is 21 days on, 21 days off. While I'm at work, I stay on the rig the whole time. For salah, I've been praying Qasr because I'm traveling-so Dhuhr, Asr, and Isha are shortened to two rakat each. Now with Ramadan here, I'm facing a challenge: I'm out in the middle of the ocean, and getting exact Suhoor and Iftar times for my specific location isn't possible. For Iftar, I rely on an app that shows sunset time, and for Suhoor, I use the timing from the nearest city's mosque, making sure to finish eating well before that time to account for any differences. Is this approach correct? It's the best solution I could come up with. Jazakallah khair for any advice.
