UAE launches teacher training in AI to prepare students for future jobs - As-salamu alaykum
As-salamu alaykum. The UAE announced plans on Wednesday to give teachers training in artificial intelligence so schools can use more advanced tech and help students get ready for tomorrow’s workplaces.
The initiative, called the Teachers Track, is a collaboration between the UAE’s Office for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and a technology partner. It supports a broader goal to train one million people in AI by 2027, announced last year by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
The programme’s purpose is to boost teachers’ knowledge of AI and give them the practical skills to use the technology in their classrooms. Saqr Binghalib, executive director of the Office, said the move follows the UAE’s aim to place teachers at the centre of digital change and to equip future generations with the tools to succeed in an AI-driven world.
Teachers Track focuses on improving efficiency and encouraging creativity in teaching. It includes example models for using AI in education and hands-on ways to incorporate AI into lesson plans, assessments and student engagement.
Earlier this year, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced that AI would be introduced as a subject across all levels of public education in the UAE from reception through Grade 12, so young people can build a solid technical understanding of AI as well as awareness of its ethics, data, algorithms, uses and risks.
The training package was revealed on UAE Codes Day, observed on October 29, which UNESCO recognised as an international day of coding.
May Allah make this effort beneficial for our students and help teachers guide the next generation with wisdom and skill. Peace and blessings.
