Two Suspected Religious Blasphemers in Quran Recitation Contest with Alcohol Prizes Questioned by Polda Metro Jaya
BANDA ACEH – Two suspected religious blasphemers with the initials R and E were taken to Polda Metro Jaya for questioning regarding alleged religious blasphemy at The Sounds Project music festival in Ancol, North Jakarta.
This case emerged after an alleged act of blasphemy, namely a contest to memorize Surah Ad Dhuha which was linked to alcoholic beverage prizes. Police have questioned the event organizer and the alcohol brand owner.
Polda Metro Jaya's Director of General Criminal Investigation, Commissioner Iman Imanudin, stated that police have identified the perpetrators of the challenge. The questioning of R and E aims to examine their roles in the alleged religious blasphemy.
Police emphasized they will take firm action if criminal elements are found. Investigators are still gathering statements and evidence to clearly uncover the sequence of events.
