Turning a Tough Time Into Qur’an Progress - Looking for Short Surahs/Ayahs to Memorize
Assalamu alaykum, I could use some advice and suggestions. I’m not a ḥāfiẓ, but I enjoy memorizing short surahs and ayahs when I can. I recently went through a big life change and now have more time, so I want to spend it memorizing short, meaningful parts of the Qur’an. I know every part of the Qur’an is beneficial, so I’m specifically after shorter verses or surahs that are commonly recited in salah and encourage reflection, so I can keep building steadily. What I’ve memorized so far: 1. Opening verses of Surah al-Baqarah 2. Ayat al-Kursi 3. Last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah 4. Last ten verses of Surah al-Furqan 5. First ten verses of Surah Ya-Sin 6. First twenty verses of Surah ar-Rahman 7. First twenty verses of Surah al-Waqi’ah 8. Last three verses of Surah al-Hashr 9. First fifteen verses of Surah al-Mulk 10. Surah al-A‘la 11. Surah al-Ghashiyah 12. Surah ash-Shams 13. Surah ad-Duha 14. Surah ash-Sharh (al-Inshirah) 15. Surah at-Tin 16. Surahs 101–114 I’m aiming next to memorize the first ten verses of Surah ad-Dukhan. I’d appreciate suggestions for short, deep ayahs or surahs that are commonly used in prayer and help deepen reflection and connection. Also any tips on memorization routines that work for someone balancing daily life would be helpful. JazakAllahu khayran - looking forward to your recommendations.
