Thousands of Migrant Workers Pack Muslimat NU Hong Kong Anniversary, Messages of Happiness and Independence Echo
Thousands of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) packed the 80th anniversary celebration of Muslimat NU held by PCI Muslimat NU Hong Kong and Macau on Saturday (5/17). The event featured inspiring talks from Hj Nur Cita Qomariyah, founder of Pesantren Digipreneur Al Yasmin Surabaya, about gratitude, happiness, and women's independence. Also present was the caregiver of Pesantren Islahiyyah Pasuruan, Hj Ucik Nurul Hidayati.
PCI Muslimat NU Hong Kong and Macau chairwoman Hj Fatimah Angelia expressed gratitude for the collaboration and mutual cooperation among members. In her talk, Cita invited the congregation to become happy women who are grateful for today and practice DUIT (Doa, Usaha, Ikhlas, Tawakkal - Prayer, Effort, Sincerity, Reliance on God).
The celebration coincided with the peak of the anniversary at Al Akbar Mosque Surabaya, attended by Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Arifatul Choiri Fauzi. The theme "Preserving Tradition, Strengthening Independence, and Bringing Serenity to Civilization" underscores Muslimat NU's strategic role in spreading ahlussunnah wal jamaah values through PCI branches in various countries.
On this occasion, Muslimat NU read out an appeal for world peace to the UN in Indonesian and English, calling for an end to war and for global peace.
