More instability
It's heartbreaking to see Mali caught in this cycle of violence again. How many more communities have to live in fear?
Insurgents attack multiple towns in northern and central Mali, sources say
BAMAKO: A Tuareg-led insurgent group said on Saturday it had attacked a town in northern Mali where government troops and Russian paramilitary forces are based, and residents of two other localities in northern and central Mali reported hearing gunfire and explosions. The fighting, which started around 5:00 am (0500 GMT), came more than two months after the same groups staged attacks against the ruling junta in which the country’s defense minister was killed. The attacks were reported in Gao, Anefis, Aguelhok and Sevare, as well as a prison in Kenieroba.
