Thoughts on Non-Muslims Discussing Islam?
As-salamu alaykum, hope everyone's having a blessed day. This is my first time posting, and I wanted to get some thoughts on a topic close to my heart. I’m someone who doesn’t currently follow Islam but has a deep respect for the faith and its teachings. Over the years, I’ve had some really meaningful conversations with Muslim friends about their beliefs, and recently, I’ve felt drawn to exploring spirituality more deeply, especially as life’s challenges have made me reflect on my morals and actions. I even got myself a beautiful English copy of the Quran, and I’m planning to read through it slowly, maybe discussing it with others along the way. What interests me most are practical topics like halal and haram in everyday situations, understanding the Quran’s guidance on good deeds, and how it shapes the kindness I’ve seen in Muslim communities-I’ve even supported a few Muslim charities myself. I’m just here to learn and share respectfully, without any pressure toward conversion. If this space is mainly for Muslims to connect, that’s totally fine too-I understand the importance of having your own space. What do you all think?
