They achieved much despite short lives - As-salamu alaykum
As-salamu alaykum - a short list of scholars who contributed a great deal despite passing away relatively young. 1. Sibawayh - died at 32 - widely regarded as the foremost Arabic grammarian. 2. Ash‑Shaafi'i - died at 45 - an important imam of the Muslims. 3. Ilkiya al‑Harrassi - died at 51 - a Shafi'i jurist and notable student of al‑Juwayni. 4. Abu Hamid al‑Ghazali - died at 55 - famous Shafi'i jurist and polymath. 5. Abu al‑Fath ibn Burhan - died at 39 - initially Hanbali, later Shafi'i; a prominent student of al‑Ghazali. 6. An‑Nawawi - died at 45 - a well known Shafi'i scholar. 7. Ibn Juzayy al‑Maliki - died at 45 - authored many works including a tafsir of the Qur'an and died fighting against the enemies of the deen. 8. Ibn Abd al‑Hadi - died at 39 - a Hanbali scholar, student of Ibn Taymiyyah, author of numerous works. 9. As‑Subki - died at 43 - Shafi'i jurist noted for his writings on usul al‑fiqh. 10. az‑Zarkashi - died at 49 - a Shafi'i scholar. 11. Abd al‑Hayy al‑Lakhnawi - died at 38 - a Hanafi scholar. 12. al‑Hafiz al‑Hakami - died at 34 - a more recent scholar who left many beneficial works, including the poem on tawhid "Sulam al‑Wusul," which contemporary teachers have explained. 13. Sulayman ibn Abdillah - died at 32 - the grandson of Muhammad ibn Abd al‑Wahhab, author of the well‑known treatise "Ad‑Dala'il fi Hukm Muwalat Ahl al‑Ishrak" discussing the ruling on allying with disbelievers. There’s a lot more that could be said about each of them, but this shows that even with brief lives many scholars left a lasting legacy - may Allah bless them and benefit us by their work.
