The Ministry of Education clarified the plans for the subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" - assalamu alaikum.
Peace be upon you. The Ministry of Education has denied rumors that they are planning to introduce a separate Unified State Exam (USE) for the subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia." Earlier, the head of the ministry, Sergey Kravtsov, didn't rule out the inclusion of the subject in discussions at a forum, but now they've clarified that there won't be a separate graduation exam in the USE format for this course.
The ministry emphasized that studying the course will help students see a holistic picture of the world and understand more deeply the processes that are tested in exams for humanities subjects. The knowledge from this course has interdisciplinary character and will develop while studying history, social studies, and literature.
The course "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia," which will be taught starting from the next academic year, is supposed to lay a solid foundation for the cultural and value development of the individual, introducing students to the historical, cultural, and spiritual foundations of the country.
Previously, the historical Cathedral Mosque in St. Petersburg hosted a nationwide conference on interfaith dialogue - such meetings are important for strengthening mutual understanding.
